A couple of hours ago I received a text from Rachel (Maddy's mum), saying that Dominic Bennet was just about to go into theatre for a liver and bowel transplant, after a long wait.

I don't know Dominic, but thought I'd post here as some of you might know him.

My thoughts are with him and his family at this time. And the donor family as well.

So sorry to hear this tragic news. We also did not know of Dominic but thoughts are with all of his family, friends and donor family. Also with the medics at BCH as it must be devastating for them also when they lose any child.

I'm Dominic's great auntie.  On behalf of all the family may I say thank you for your kind thoughts and wishes.  He was a very beautiful boy who was greatly loved.  If our love could have kept him alive, Dominic would have lived forever.

I am so sad for Stacey, Dom's mum. Dom was a little superstar and managed so well to hold on so long for the organs. It's so tragic. I too really feel for the surgeons at BCH. They've had a really tough run recently and I know they really really care for these little ones of ours. All the staff at BCH are really sad about little Dom. The funeral was sad but lovely, I was glad to see Stacey being so brave. She is a superstar. Prayers were said at the funeral for our children still fighting.
Lots of love to all the family...
It was lovely to meet you at the funeral.
