Aaron is celebrating his 13th birthday today
It's pretty daunting looking back over the years..to think 13yrs ago I was enduced 3 weeks early and Aaron made his dramatic entry, via emergency c-section, into our world..little did we know then what lay ahead.. from diagnosis of his CHD (TOF) to NEC destroying 3/4 of his intestine after his 1st heart surgery(at just 6 days old)...TPN related liver disease..finally escaping hospital for the 1st time when he was 13 months old..corrective open heart surgery(3yrs old)..further infectons...to finally receiving his gift of life a combined liver & small bowel transplant..to him having PTLD(B cell lymphoma of his duodenum)...it has not been an easy road travelled but one that has taught us SO much...our lives changed for the better 13yrs ago!
Thinking of Aaron's donor family today if it weren't for their amazing gift we Aaron would not have been celebrating his birthday today(((hugs)))
