This is Ben.  He is going to be 5 in February and is looking forward to getting his new kidney from his mummy (that's me) in January.  Everyone never believes me how sick he actually is because he looks so fantastic which I take as a great compliment to his attitude, personality and determination.

Ben was born with PUV and very quickly we realised that he wasn't going to be lucky enough just to need an operation but would be one of those who needed a transplant.  We have been working towards this for almost five years now and are awaiting the transplant itself with a lot of excitement, trepidation, anxiety - pretty much all the emotions you can imagine us having.

Please keep your fingers crossed for us that everything goes well - we are just concentrating on having a good Christmas and trying not to focus on January just yet.

Andrea

Thanks for sharing Andrea. I hope you have a lovely Christmas and that all goes well for you and Ben when he receives one of your kidneys in January.

Take care,

Wow what an amazing gift you will be giving your son..Ben is a little cracker,he does look really healthy(it's what's going on inside the outside world don't see hey?) and what a brave lad going through what he has...what a brave Mummy going to go through what you are..am so glad all's gone well and that you are a match for Ben,so much better than a potentialy lengthy wait for a kidney match Wink

Yup try and put it outta your minds and have an extra special Christmas...does he know and understand what will be going to happen? Do you have any other children?

I'm Cat by the way I'm nosey aint I Roll Eyes I'm Mum to Aaron,he received his gift of life a combined liver & small bowel transplant when he was 3yrs old..he's now 13!  Grin
